Attention MJ fans - I need help I was leafing through the booklet for the Essential Michael Jackson CDs and noticed that "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" and "Leave Me Alone" were recorded "4-10/82," which means between April and October of 1982. Can this be? That would make them Thriller leftovers, which would kind of surprise me. Does anyone know if this is accurate, or perhaps the CD booklet has a typo.

Good question. Not that I´m a big MJ fan but here´s what Wiki says about it:

Well that's a lie. Firstly his voice on Leave Me Alone is far different from anything he did in the early 80s. It changed a lot by 1986. Secondly Siedah Garrett was brought in in 1987 according to her and Quincy Jones. She'd never met MJ before that - and this picture is straight from the recording session of IJCSLY

It's a mis-print in the booklet. yes, that's the photo that made me question IJCSLY being from 1982. I'm thinking mis-print. The printing on actual disk omits listing Can You Feel It, although it's on the CD, and printed in the CD booklet. It's a misprint. They made errors on the Ultimate Collection booklet too Bboy87, Timmy84, LittleBlueCorvette, MuthaFunka, phunkdaddy, and Christopher: the revamped nWo!

Siedah Garrett herself has said she didn't present Man in the Mirror till 1987, she'd never met Michael before, and when she was presenting Man In the Mirror, Quincy asked her to do I Just Can't Stop Loving You. As Elie pointed out. www.maximum-jackson.com

I believe Liberian Girl was the first song written from the Bad album which was around 1984.

the booklet is full of date errors. 'music combining elements of jazz, blues, and soul and characterized by syncopated rhythm and a heavy, repetitive bass line' = Funk!

I Just Can't Stop Loving You From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search “I Just Can't Stop Loving You” “I Just Can't Stop Loving You” cover Single by Michael Jackson and Siedah Garrett from the album Bad Released July 20, 1987 Format CD single Recorded 1982 Genre Pop/R&B Length 4:25 Label Epic Records "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" is a popular ballad by singers Michael Jackson and Siedah Garrett. It was recorded in 1982 but not released until 1987. Written and composed by Jackson, it was originally intended to be a duet between Jackson and his woman of choice: either Barbra Streisand or Whitney Houston. I think Whitney would have been perfect for that song. "I just woke up from a fuzzy dream....you never would believe the things that I have seen".

Nah, you just heard the loons claiming those kids are biologically his, and realised MJ is a magnet for weirdos everywhere.

But didn't you know, mj is the first and only known human being to man that manipulated his gene pool as a result of plastic surgery and vitiligo

I don't like that particular song anyway but I did buy the album though because I knew there would be other decent stuff on it. I wouldn't want Shitney on the album because that would mean that I actually owned a record that she was on.

There was a TV program following a female MJ fan travelling to California to support him during the trial, and she was surprisingly honest about the type of fans Michael attracts. She said "Michael does have the weirdest fans. You can literally go through them and say "That one's gay, that one's overweight, that one's worried about this, that one's anxious about that"". Of course, you can't criticise people for being weird, but it's just when they try and foist their lunacy on the rest of us that I take issue.

she is totally right. Even though I don't relate to mj seriously like before, I've been there and I still feel something towards him. I took it so personally when people were mean about him but now I just laugh along, cause it's not healthy to get so uptight over someone I don't really know.

I've always been a black sheep also but I've always been able to relate more to Prince much moreso than Michael Jackson. Michael turns me off with his crying, wanting people to understand him, and actually worrying if people like him or not. Prince, on the other hand, is a freak but he doesn't give a damn whether people like him or not. If people talk about a particular thing about him that they don't like, he doesn't cry about it or try to change it. Instead, he throws it in their face even wilder to piss them off even more. Michael wants sympathy. Prince wants revenge. Prince is a real bitch and I love him for it. . . . [Edited 10/23/08 9:58am]
