Did anyone ever listen to Kruder and Dorfmeister? On my Saturday dig I got their 1994 EP.

'K&D Sessions' was the bible for downbeat electronic music and still sounds very accomplished even 10 years after its release. People tend to forget that these guys are remixers/DJ's and have only a handfull of own compositions.
You know what they say about arguing on the internet… It’s a lot like running a race in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you’re still retarded.

I have DJ Kicks from 1996. I really enjoyed that album and always wanted to check out G-Stoned but never got around to it. If you don't change, reality in the end forces that change upon you.--S. Wilde

I appreciate that they are popular enough to bring a certain type of music to the masses that they wouldn't normally hear or gravitate to: Downtempo

'K&D DJ-Kicks' is another stellar mixtape CD by them. For original recordings check Tosca (which features Dorfmeister together with Rupert Huber, 'Suzuki' is a must-have!) or Kruder's soloproject Peace Orchestra. Kruder's other project is Voom:Voom.....which consists of of Trüby Trio's Roland Appel and Fauna Flash. Unfortunately, K&D are lazy bums and their output is very minimal. However, if you get a chance to see/hear them spinning the wheels of steel, do not pass! Best is to see them together, Dorfmeister alone (Dr. Richard) requires a blunt or two..... I'm sorry I am NOT a Tosca fan. My DJ peeps like some of their output, but most of it is meh. Too bland for my taste. But again they are popular. If you guys like this music scratch beneath the surface of ULTRA CHILLED type of comps. There is a LOT of stunning and beautiful music out there. This is my voice, My weapon of choice

Nice to see some of y'all orgers are into this type of music. It rarely gets discussed.

G-Stoned is the name of K&D's record label but they also released a CD in '93 by the same name. It's "bedroom" music if you know what I mean. I also find a lot of Tosca compositions heat up the bedroom scene as well. And Baby Mammoth is the shit. Did they recently move over to K&D's stable? I don't seem to remember them recording for this label. If you like Reggae influenced sounds and dub production don't miss Richard Dorfmeister's A Different Drummer Selection, A Decade in Dub '92-'02. Space is the place, y'all and Dorfmiester knows how to slice it right. [Edited 8/29/08 11:39am] No Baby Mammoth is on PORK records which puts out better material I think. I believe Baby Mammoth is no longer around This is my voice, My weapon of choice
