Can someone clear something up, are they black or white? I keep seeing different pictures of them where they're either black or white.

http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 I was just listening to this one on Monday with inserts that looked like they were printed on a high school copier:
Why aren't any of these collections still in print?

If you, or anywhere else, has the Siren album, don't orgnote me or anything. I've fallen deeply for So Young recently. Possibly even more than Be My Baby, which is arguably one of the greatest pop records ever.
Quintessential listening folks (if you can find this gem that is)!

Why aren't any of these collections still in print? Probably because of the reason you just stated... "with inserts that looked like they were printed on a high school copier" ... Seriously though, it seems that The Ultimate Collection is being mainly touted for having stereo mixes of the classic Ronettes singles. For the purist, that's a direct contrast to Phil Spector's sonic vision. His "Wall of Sound" mixes were based on the fact that they would be heard on AM radio, a MONO medium.
...Back To Mono (1958-1969) is a 60 track box set and a nice Phil Spector production retrospective. tA Tribal Disorder

http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 The mastering is a hell of a lot better on The Ultimate Collection and another greatest hits collection from Italy. I have no idea where they found the tapes, but it sounds incredible. Back To Mono and Greatest Hits sounds like Spector remastered the tracks in his bathroom. Terrible. [Edited 8/31/08 18:03pm] Janet's tour starts September 10th in Vancouver, and I am SO EXCITED!

http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 Also good is a collection called All The Hits from Germany on the Charly label. [Edited 9/1/08 12:08pm] Janet's tour starts September 10th in Vancouver, and I am SO EXCITED!

http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 That's interesting. I never realized that I was listening to the Ronettes tracks wrong. I'll track that U.S. comp down on ebay or somewhere and compare the two. Plus the American release is one of Rolling Stone's top 50 coolest albums ever so that alone is reason to get it.

If Ronnie had been around longer she would've gave Diana Ross a run for her money.

The last thing I heard Ronnie do was a guest appearance on the Raveonettes album Pretty In Black in 2005.
