Stevie Wonder at the Democratic Convention Tonight

Yup. I just heard he'll be there and I ssume that means performing.

Anyone else been watching the convention each night? on the screen

They have a live covers band that they hardly ever show but they are really good and pretty funky too.

The finished with JB's Livin' in Amrica the other night and it kicked ass.

Lot's of the selections have been old soul music nuggets, I'd say 65-75%.

Tonight's an historic moment. Tune it.

OMG! I'm watching it now, and he's fabulous! He's singing with I think Take 6... great harmonies!

"Baaaaarrrrraaacckkkk Obaaaaammmmaaa Yes, we can! Yes, we can!"

"I'm going to do this song for the future President of the United States and his wife"... then tripped into "Signed, Sealed and Delivered"!

You go, Stevie! dancing jig

I want that Off the Wall, I-don't-really-wanna-stop-till-I-get-enough kind of love!

Stevie rocked it! I really liked the song he did with Take 6 and I hope it's on the new album he's working on.

He obviously wrote it for the event.

The title of says it all- the Repugnicans tactic to control people by projecting danger and enemies everywhere and then positioning themselves as the only ones qualified to protect us is a bogus game that may work for a while but cannot endure as we the people wake up to the spirit of unity and hope that has always been the true source of anything good.

Stevie Wonder performed "Fear Can't Put Dreams To Sleep" during Johnny Carson's last few months as host of The Tonight Show on April 10, 1992. He stated that his performance was the first time he had performed the song in public.

Thank you Manray for this info! So this must be one of the many unreleased recordings he has written, but it is stuck in the vaults. This song was awesome and the harmonies of Take 6 really took it a whole new level.

I'm waiting for Stevie to perform "You Haven't Done Nothing" for the Republicronies. He's gotta do it!!

dancing jig

I've often wondered if construction of a red lightsaber takes place before you can become a Republican, or is it something you do after initiation. Dah, well... shrug

It's funny that you said that because You Haven't Done Nothing is as much as an ode to Bush and McCain as it was an attack to Nixon and the Watergate-era back in the day. That song is still relevant today.
