Of course. He could not sing live. He was a fairly good-looking guy who was a face for the videos and a voice for the studio. He might have been the only there who did not sing live.

El Debarge and Barry White killed it that night. James Ingram did what he could, but he sounded as if he wasn't up 100%. Al B. Sure.., well, he held the microphone in his hand at least.

Wouldn't you be afraid if you had a voice like Al b sure and had to sing with those three guys, but i give it to him he can make the most ridiculous faces i've ever seen during lipsyncing.

I watch this clip whenever I want to see someone in a less dignified mess than I might find myself in at any given time. disbelief

There's no way I would disrespect the artistry of James, El and Barry or set myself up for utter ridicule by appearing onstage like that.

Barry White was so cool there.
Every one else is up there singing like they're trying to make the girls react.

You can't always tell on youtube vids, cuz sometimes there's a delay that happens in the posting process.

that said, I really liked the Al B. Sure! debut album, but last time I listened to it about 5 years ago (at least) - let's just say that kind of album could not happen today.
