at nearly 20 dollars a pop and not to mention im sure part of that 40 million comes out of here advance... they will recoup that.

He spent plenty, people just werent buying the image that was the "same ole thing". As for Mariah thats the number spent, i know this because some of the people that i once worked with in that forum still do what they used to do and they will give me insight on whats going down, whos spending what, when someone is coming out, and whos getting dropped.

I know people assume that when someones album doesnt sell "the label didnt spend money", incorrect. Its a wide forum when you add up the number of things a label gets you and what they spend money on. The first is video costs, the second they pay for your magazine time, they pay to advertise your album, they pay when it gets an ad in a magazine, they pay radio and video to play you. The also pay websites and retail outlets to sell your album, for space in their stores for your album, and things like posters and displays in stores, it all adds up. And then when you do crazy shit like LIGHT the empire state building in MIMI colors, that gets added to the bill, and it was paid by the label, so i know most people dont think of these things, but wehen an average music video costs about2-3 million to make and then you factor in all these other costs, the shit adds up depending on who the artist is.

Her album's been dead for awhile,hasn't it? I think she just released a new single but I don't think it's gonna make much of a difference.Her best bet is to do a kickass tour that makes alot of money.

i guess i should not be surprised she only released like one single, and one video. plus like only 2 weeks of promotion at the beginning of this year.
