The same goes with Amii Stewart and "Knock On Wood". When I heard the originals later, I thought...."hell no, too slow". See, back in those days when artists remade songs, they made them faster so they could jam to them. Nowadays, it's the exact opposite. These dull asses remake everything slower. I've never seen nothing like it in my life. They had lost all sense of rhythm. And it's not like they like a few things slow. They like everything slow. | |

I didn't know that anyone else had done it. When I heard the original from Eddie Floyd (which is the one my parents liked), I was bored stiff. Now, I was totally opposite on Grapevine. I didn't realize that Roger's was a remake at the time because almost everything about the song changed. I was very familiar with Marvin's version (which I still love his haunting version), bu Roger's makes u wanna shake ur ass. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

The version on the album is 10+minutes. There is also a single edit that is around 4 minutes that is included on the reissue cd. ![]() **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

You just can't fuck with this jam! Too hot, one of my favorites from Roger for sure. This one and "Heartbreaker" would both be in my Zapp/Roger top 5. http://www.swamimusic.com
