I don't know a damn thing about their songwriting but I sure as hell prefer The Bee Gees' music 50 times over both The Beatles and The Stones put together.

They are all great but, with the apples, you could only do that little rooster strut that Mick used to do. With the oranges, you could shake ass. lol

I think all 3 were fantastic, and that their worst songs are better than 99% of the stuff on itunes hot 100 these days.

We should celebrate all 3 for giving us stuff that we can still enjoy 20-30yrs later.

Then think about all the talentless hacks who butchered their songs over the years and tried to pass them off as their own.

Very true. And as I said on another thread, even The Brady Bunch kids songs were better than anything by these artists today. lol

Hahah me too. Love me some Bee Gees!!!!!

And I agree that they're fantastic songwriters, but quite underrated if you ask me.

They got a bad rep that lingered on to this day because of all the backlash against disco. I loved the hell out of their disco stuff and they had some great slow jams also.

Just bought the Bee Gees Greatest the other day. I love it. Can't get "Nights on Broadway" out of my head! Somebody help me!
Better songwriters than the Beatles though? Naaaa....
I respect but am not really into the Stones. So Bee Gees better songwriters than the Rolling Stones? I'd have to say "Yup".

I had to remove two songs off of a twenty song mix to make it fit on CD.

Bee Gees-penned "Take The Short Way Home" by Dionne Warwick was one of them.

To say one is better than the other is really Moot. It's all what you like.

NAH!

The Miracles were better songwriters than the Bee Gees, lol.

But really neither of them can be compared.

The Beatles, Stones and Bee Gees were all great songwriters.

Again, it's apples to oranges. I see the Beatles and Stones as being more timeless whereas the Bee Gees sound is representative more of a particular era in music and at least for me, it never seems to rise above that. They made great music, but not timeless music.
