Hmm, why don't you mention that Michael is right behind her with Triller 25, in it's fourth weeek, having a 20 % sales increase!

Yep, it climbed 5 spots and might even be ahead of Janet on the Billboard Comprehensive Charts, as it only has sold 2572 albums less! 9 4 MICHAEL JACKSON LEGACY 49,181 +20% THRILLER - 25TH ANNIVERSARY ED. It is simple. The media loves calling anything Michael does a flop, and when he is on top, they just shut up. They don't want to eat their own words - so they just ignore his successes and then later label them a flop. As much as I hated Invincible, for 2001, it had pretty strong sales. MJ Fan 1992-Forever

Hmm, when the 25 year old album of said artist's older brother almost outsells the brandnew album in it's second week, then that question is almost answered... isn't it?

I do hope Janet's album will pick up though! I want her to be successful! I like your first sentence here. I hate the second one. Lip-synching muppets do not deserve success. If you want to wish someone success, wish it to the talented artists who get totally overlooked in favour of vacuous non-entities like Ms WACKson. I'm not crazy about that Thriller 25 album, but if anything, it shows that there is still a market out there for him... people still want to hear and buy his music... even if he doesn't lift a finger to promote it! I love Janet and this CD but based on this drop and frankly the first week (come on people...I know sales dipped but come on!), this isn't the hit she needed and that Island expected yet. She really needs big singles that stay on the charts in order to boost the albums. Maybe just one big one. "Feedback" is great but "Rock With U" needs to kill....it could but is radio playing it? Seems like she is getting so much love for "Luv" on R&B radio but pop radio doesn't care about her newest single(s). | |

first of all I don't care if janet sells... she said herself it doesnt matter... but i would NOT wish failure.. LIKE THAT KRAZY PERSON.. anyways... she hasn't done enough promotion... just promoting your album the week it comes out is NOT enough... she could have done more.. but oh well.. The album isn't doing very well.If these sales figures were for another artist,y'all would be calling it a flop.Let's face it folks,this isn't the big "comeback" that Janet and her record label were looking for.If the first two weeks are any indication,she's gonna have a hard time just reaching gold status in the States.'Damita Jo' and '20 Y/O' were considered flops,but at least those albums sold a decent number of copies during their first two weeks.This album sold less than 200,000 during its first week.
