How embarrassing. Madonna might as well change her name to Madonna Inc. at this point. She's so desperate to sell herself; why not just be yourself at this stage of your career instead of desperately reaching for hokey marketing tricks? The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

I couldn't have said it any better than that. Madonna, wow, what the fuck? That whole video concept say Stupid all over it. It just seems pathetic to me.  Prince.org is a cemetery where folks mourn Prince instead of celebrate him and his music. Last time I checked, Prince isn't dead yet.

I won't hold much judgement until I ACTUALLY see the video. Anyway, I'm surprised many are criticizing the concept. Everyone should know that Madonna pretty much rides on the public's feelings. Back in the mid 90s, people thought she had mellowed into motherhood and had nothing creative to offer, so she gave Ray of Light. When pop/dance acts like NSYNC and Britney Spears were taking over radio, she put out Music and all of a sudden started wearing a shirt that said Britney's name. And when people turned away from American Life and wanted the "old Madonna" back, she put out COADF. Now that radio has somehow been anti-Madonna for a while(even with COADF) and the Timbaland sound is hot, why not embrace it? I can see everyone's arguments, but I think that she's doing what helped her have the career she's had, and that's being able to fit into and adapt to the pop culture at the moment. I think that's what makes her so great. Besides, the direction is very Bowie "Let's Dance" era,in my opinion. If you want to score a for sure radio hit, why not join them? | |

The question is: why does she need a US hit? She has had numerous. For once let her focus on the music and not on charts. She has the luxury to do that now, since she has established herself as the most successful female recording artist. And it is not as if she needs a hit to tour. I wish she and MJ would realize this. Make good music.. It's been downhill for Britney and Xtina since the Lesbo/Sodomite kiss thing with her.. I don't think it is wise to do any risque acts with "Maddie". Others seem to be "pimped" while she continues to make $$$$$ from shock-tricks.. I find it quite hypocritical that she keeps her children from watching Television.
