a-Ha live in RIO 1991, still stands as the biggest paying audience ever for a show

I was watching this concert the other day not believing that its already 16 years ago, and still not believing that the band has come so far to where they are today musically. This concert back in 1991 was around the time when big concerts like this still happend. But something was different at this show, a-Ha were setting the record for largest "paying" audience for a show ever, breaking the previous set by Paul McCartney, and that record still stands to this day at 195,000. Its no wonder that a-Ha remain such a force in South america, they went back to some TV stuff in Chile in 2006 and it was nuts, and really they hadnt been there in quite some time, but no one forgot, you could clearly see the shock on a-Ha's faces at the response to their return over a decade later. a-Ha is currently working on its 9th studio album set for 2008 release, as the members work on solo stuff too, they also celebrated their 25th year of being a band this past August.

Sorry a-Ha actually sold this on their own, no festival, no opening acts, not supporting anyone. Its actually in the World Record Books as the biggest concert (paid event) ever. a-Ha are royality in South America.
