Somebody posted this a while back - both the font & picture blow. This photo is too close & up the nose, the hair is very 70's. I just don't get it, maybe it's some kinda theme they're going after here but me no likey

Love the 70s look of the photo. There's too much going on in the font though. Maybe the designer thought the photo needs help. It doesn't.

Profoundly retro, without being too apparently pseudo-retro like most stuff today. Of course there is always the danger of the whole thing becoming overtly simplistic and cheap-looking in the end when it's placed on the store shelf. So it would probably work far better as an LP cover than as a typical CD jewelcase release.

But anyway. She looks beautiful, and it's not sexist. That's quite an accomplishment after the horrible standards for album cover aesthetics of the early part of this decade.

People are paying WAY too much attention to covers these days. If a cover makes someone buy or not buy or your album I would rather NOT have that person buying my record. This cover is simple,to the point,whatever. Lets be real in a few years when CD's are gone its not going to matter what a cover is anyway.

Three suggestions for improvement:

1. Remove the "Alicia Keys" completely.
2. Have the "As I Am" text in her writing.
3. Improve the pic. Keep the same general idea, but improve the pic.

Yeah its to the point, mainly because its black and white, no one realizes that color photos are the worst thing to do, mainly because all covers are photoshopped so that costs $$$ with black and white there isnt much altering you can do, as far as the font, does it really matter?
