Britney Spears' musical return has long been anticipated and, due to her recent behavior, highly speculated. But fans can rest their pretty little heads. It seems Ms. Spears isn't entirely putting them on.

On Thursday morning, a supposed new demo of the singer's appeared online -- a melancholy ballad about being deserted by her man. "Every day, I'm in a daze/Looking for that someone," Spears sings. "And every day, I sit and kneel and pray/Oh, sweet love, can I get some?"

It ain't Shakespeare, but it's a start.

That song is pure and utter bullshit. Homegirl was off key a few times, the lyrics are atrocious, the melody is nowhere to be found and her voice is shit, which it has always been. Somebody needs to tell that Trailer Park Trash Ho to go back to Louisiana and learn how to be a mother to her children. Music should be nowhere in the equation. First thought is that it's not yet finished. But perhaps they decided to keep it raw and in your face...warts and all...like her life, these days. That kind of makes it nice. Too much polish and it might not have rung true.

I like it alright. I like her voice. Not the off parts, but they're so off that you have to wonder if they intentionally left those there.

The jewelry box thing is a bit annoying, though.

Funny how people bitched about her success when she was on top, saying how "untalented" she is. Yet now that she's in the dumps, everyone seems to want her to make a comeback. Interesting. I never thought of her to be very talented as a singer, yet I've always thought she was a good dancer and had a good ear for producers, which is why alot of her singles have become memorable while other more talented artists in her genre make not so memorable songs

Anyway, I heard a bit of the song. Not great, but not bad either. I like how it's kinda raw. As for her singing, well..it's Britney. What can you say? I'll give her credit though..she does convey some great emotion in it.

It would be a nice album track if polished up, but as a single..don't think it would work.

it sounds like a demo..but I clearly hear the autotune kicking in at different parts of the verse vocals...she's not a great singer by any stretch of the imagination..and the song is pretty BLAH.... ..But hey..she's a packaged pop star going through a rough patch...be strong brit !

Yeah a brick goes to those people. I dont get it...i stood the tests of time and protected Prince like a cousin when he was going through the motions and people (school kids) laughed at me 4 liking Prince in the 91-99 hey day, that's y I can't say anything bad but give love 2 the man.

Im glad Prince.org every1 can say what they want though. But I have the same right to counter-act. Briteny has made some bland songs and some I cant stand, but it wont give me a reason to hate. Hell I have her Greatest Hits, and dammit "When Your Eyes Say It" written by Diane Warren was a very nice track

oh my god, people actually like this craptastic tune?

those lyrics are incoherent and quite embarrassing. the singing sounds a little better than normal but also very affected like she's trying to hard in some spots. thats a definite throw-away. the track is kinda cool tho. with different lyrics it could be an ok album song. but yea...those lyrics are absolutely devoid of intelligence.

This song would sound so much better if another singer did this.

She cannot sing....I couldn't help but laugh out loud anytime she attempted a vocal run. No Britney, you don't have it.
