So I spoke to JIMMY JAM'S father and he said...

If you dont know Jimm Jam's father is a frequent customer at my job and he is respected by everyone there. He plays the piano somewhere around town in Minneapolis and comes to do change orders n stuff sometime. he is a simple older guy. Kind of hunched over and wears his name over his neck and a peace sign proudfully. He's pretty funny too.

Well after a while I finally finally found the courage to ask him about Jimmy Jam and I said,
"so can I ask you a question?"

"go ahead.." he said

"you are Jimmy Jam's father right?"

"yeah"

"How is he doing?" I asked

He looked at me with a plain face and just said, "you know what...Im just gonna leave that up to God. We dont talk anymore."

omg

So I just sat there and said..."ok"...and hoped I didnt make him mad cry

Posting something like that on a website isn't appropriate nor fair to Jimmy or his father.

@ the time i posted that i was just excited to even had the opprotunity to speak to him further. But yes it is inappropriate you are right. I should have it taken down as I do respect J&T as one of the biggest influences in black music respectfully.

I remember in a interview Jimmy Jam said he did not think he would ever get married because his parents had a bad marriage.

He seemed to say in passing in the interview so I don't know if Paisley Park's comments are that reveling.

Look it has been known that the two of them doesn't communicate anymore, so Paisley has a right to put out anything that he want. If that is what Mr. Harris said then let the truth be known. You haters. loser

I'd say it's more inappropriate for his father to divulge the information to a complete stranger. shrug He could have just said that he doesn't want to talk abou this son to somebody he doesn't know. Since he gave no further details and PP4 didn't say anything beyond that, I don't think it's a big deal.

About 89% off topic here, but I just wanted to say that Jimmy used to frequently shop at a grocery store where I was once employed ,and he was very nice, very funny. A coworker (because I was too shy) once asked him, "So how's the movie going?" (This was during the time P was filming "Graffiti Bridge.") Jimmy replied with, "Well, Prince definitely has a vision of how things should be. Sometimes, some of us try to talk him out of certain things, but he's not one to compromise his ideas." I thought that was a very nice way of saying, "Look, this movie is freakin' weird, and it's probably gonna be freakin' awful, but I respect Prince, and I'm gettin' paid."

He once bought a bunch of food, I mean, like, three shopping carts' worth, and one cart was filled with fruit and about 10 boxes of Snackwell cookies as well as other fat-free snack items. He nodded towards that particular cart and said, "Janet."

I LOATHED working at that place, but I do miss some of the customers.

Eric Leeds used to buy stamps there, too.

Oh - and my mom (who still works there, poor woman) once waited on Tiny Tim!

Why is it different from people here discussing just about every little detail imaginable that might be speculated about in other famous people's (persons? confuse ) lives?

People talk about artists being pedophiles, everyone else under the sun being gay, others being pregnant, who went crazy, who has an eating disorder, who's on drugs, sex tapes, who's allegedly cheating on who, etc. It's the internet. shrug

Hey Paisley you don't have to apologize to anyone, if you felt that you needed to share the information then share it. Jam has even stated that he doesn't have relationship with his father, so it is no secret. Don't feel bad about it for you know Mr. Harris may have ill feelings about his son too.

That's what I was trying to figure out. There are celebs who get things posted about them on this site that are way, way more personal than this, including the person for whom this site is dedicated. So what makes Jimmy Jam off limits?
