Well I'm hardly an expert on the subject but of course the biggest reason is the idea that she was responsible for breaking up the Beatles by steering John into ever-more artsy and pretentious territory and for presumptuously trying to control or influence the group's music when she wasn't a member, which the others resented.

when i was going to school at BU, a group of friends went to a Yoko Ono Film Collection. OMG. it was off the wall kooky and no one liked it. in fact, most of the audience ended up mocking it, which made the experience tolerable. we're ONE but we're not the same, LOVE is the higher law let me come over it's a beautiful day to play with you in the dark http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

Some Beatles fans seem to be rather personal when it comes to her to the point where some of them even blame HER for Lennon's death yoko is a strong woman who creates very polarizing art, which john found attractive and which influenced him to go in other directions, much to the dismay of his beatle fans. i'm not going to get into it with the yoko-haters who are bound to creep into this thread any moment, but i think she's an amazing woman whose art is very spiritual and even very witty, if people are willing to take the time to look beyond the "weird" surface of it. i think she and john loved each other very much and they fed each other as artists. that's all that matters.

Thank you. I've only seen one of her films, Bed-In, starring her and John, and I loved it, as both a film and as performance art. I've also heard John wrote Imagine, inspired by one of her art pieces. You can't say the influence was completely negative.

So fucking what, says I. All that means is Chapman was a good shot. We are stardust. We are golden.

I can't call myself a fan of Yoko's work by a long shot, but I believe she and John truly loved each other, and that can only be a good thing. I like her. It would do the anti-Yokos a lot of good to remember that it's rare for a band -any band -to stick together for much of a length of time and not grow apart or have different interests. Yoko or no, the breakup of the Beatles was more or less inevitable. We are stardust. We are golden.

A number of fans are only going on how the tabloids portrayed her, which was all they had to go on back at that time. It has only been recently that many documentaries, interviews and candid stories have come to light talking about what actually happened back then.

John addressed the suggestion that Yoko caused the breakup of The Beatles on that legendary episode of The Dick Cavett Show. I'm not a huge fan of Yoko's music, though I do think Kiss Kiss Kiss is one of the most sublimely ridiculous songs ever. However, it's always seemed a preposterous notion to me that she had anything to do with their demise. The four hadn't been getting along for a while, but, hey...it's much easier to blame it on a woman. Blanche: Oh, I do love the rain so! It reminds me of my first kiss.
Dorothy: Awww, your first kiss was in the rain... Blanche: No, it was in the shower.

"into the sun" was a fantastic album. his voice isn't that great, but the melodies and arrangements on that album are fantastic.

I hate her fucking guts and the greatest tragedy in rock & roll history is that Mark David Chapman shot John instead of pointing the gun a few feet to the side and getting her.

To Beatle Fans she will also be hated because of the break up and taking John into a different direction, but seriously they were going that way anyway. George had already quit the group a bunch of times, Paul was ready to be a solo performer, Ringo pretty much wanted to do movies and things like that, and John needed an interest too. The big problem the Beatles had were that the creative forces of Paul,John and Goerge were all growing very fast, and they were tired of being stifled by the group and the image, thats why they broke up, nothing to do with Yoko. Now in terms of certain things she has done i do have issues, mainly the whole Julian Lennon issue still bothers me, basically Julian spent money that his father gave him to actually go to auctions to buy his fathers art work and things for himself because nothing was given to him or even asked if he wanted it. Julian ironically, is much like his dad, but as Julian said "His dad song about love and peace, but i never saw that love". John was very flawed, and he said it himself, ironically, in his last interview dec 8th, he spoke of how he screwed up julian, and wanted to fix it. a-ha "foot of the mountain TOUR 2009" a-ha "Ending on a High Note Final TOUR 2010" going everywhere!
