Pat Metheny Group - The First Circle ...
I used to always try to clap this rhythm...I always get tripped up at some point,  :

 That piece is sheer beauty.
He and Lyle Mays make such a great pair musically. I posted this on the other thread but here it is again. The clapping rhythm... 123 1234 12 1234 ...Repeat ad infinitum

This has always been my favorite Metheny/ Mays composition---but I'd love to see the charts, though...What time signature is this tune in, 22/8, --followed by 12/8, then 8/8 ?????

.... Those 2 are a perfect match for each other.  I'll have to save the time signature analysis for this weekend.
I'm detecting quite a few 11/8 sections. Others broken into 6/8, 5/8. tA Tribal Disorder

One of the things I've always loved about the Group is the highly structured written pieces that also have plenty of room for improvisation---like a small-big band,
