That one album by one artist you need to get - 'Ingenue', kd lang. 
That's off the top of my head, by the way. I was going to say 'Boys And Girls', by Bryan Ferry, but that's not to everyone's taste.  I have a great affection for that album. | |

I think that's the album where they really came into their own. I felt awful leaving out 'Remain In Light'.
But you could pick any of their first five albums - a great run. Their first album is one of the strongest debuts I've ever heard, IMO. | |

Velvet Underground Elvis Costello, the CBS years Tom Waits Prince Radiohead Badly Drawn Boy Nirvana, Sublime & Sex Pistols (making it easy!) There are greater artists, Bowie & Stones for example, but I don't need everything by them. I could add Miles & Zappa & others, but I haven't gotten there yet. Just too damn much! My Legacy

completist.... Chaka Khan. While I don't gravitate towards her solo career stuff as much as the Rufus years, I will own everything because there is always a spot of brilliance which outweighs any of her bombs.

re-reading the title of the thread, I'd say the Beatles are the only band I really have to get everything of.
Nirvana doesn't quite count because their career was so short, and Prince, while close, didn't get me to buy SST or BNO or Guitar. My Legacy

Backstreet Boys... I know alot of ppl may not like it, but I have to buy all their album's b/c i already know I'll fall in love with it.
Tiziano Ferro... Italian artist who also records in Spanish. I love him b/c he doesn't release albums one after the other, and he writes all his songs. Amazing voice. Beatles.... self explanitory. "So shall it be written, so shall it be sung..."  | |
