My band along with Tori Ruffin, who had Civil Rite, were there along with Billy Bass Nelson and some other bands. Anyway, Olivia was the host of the festival.

If I remember this correctly, Billy Bass and Olivia used to be a thing.
He used to play with a group called Black Sheep(?) and had a rehearsal spot in The Valley.
We used it a few times when I played with Marcus and she was always out there.

I don't remember that song or group at all.

Lace was a female trio who burst on the scene in 1987 or 1988 with a good song called "My Love Is Deep".The chorus goes like this:

My love is deep and you fit the bill
You give me more than a (??) thrill

I remember hearing it alot on the radio back then but they didn't last long. That's a good topic for another thread: the short-lived female R&B groups from the 80s:

*Lace
*Madame X
*Abstrac
*the ladies who sing "All Of Me For All Of You" (can't remember their name)
*Sweet Obsession

hmmm it seems that,in the late 80s,these groups were coming out of nowhere, usually with a very good debut single (remember Abstrac's 1989 hit "Right And Hype"?).

according to tvguide.com, this weekend's episode has freddie jackson, lace and whodini. hmmm

Damn, they need to go back to the 70s!! How come they haven't shown any episodes from the disco era (1977,1978,1979)??! lol That's what I really want to see.

Hell yeah! That's what I want to see as well. For the music and the visuals. Like u David, I also love that period. I'll take it back a bit to 75-79. But yeah, that period was super magical. Magic was everywhere. It was that thick. That's why u don't see people look like that anymore. I'm not talking about the clothes or the hair. I'm talking about the look in people's faces. In their eyes. In their soul. Very rarely do u see that.

Preach!! lol

Like that song on that ride at Disneyland "It's a small world after all"! I remember thinking when I first saw her backstage before we were about to go on, "Damn,..I wondered how did she end up hosting this?".
SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him."
