Cheryl looks different but she still looks good. She's probably a mom with grown kids and grandkids (lol). DaMita Jo Freeman did OK for herself. I know she was in the movie and TV series "Private Benjamin". She also danced on American Bandstand. They should do a docu on the dancers. Just to see how Soul Train affected their lives. The one guy who used to get on my nerves was the Micheal Jackson/Narada Micheal Walden lookalike with the jheri curl. Arsenio blasted Don on his show and said "you gave him more camera time than me..he was to busy 'drippin' all over the place"...Don just fell out laughing. That Narada looking cat does that same shimmy shimmy move like he's a fish outta water, I guess that was his signature step. He could easily pass for Narada brother [Edited 3/12/07 22:49pm] Yes, that guy's name is Myron. And that dance he always does was a very popular dance at one time in the 80's called "The Shake". The harder and faster it could be done, the better. I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

We used to laugh like hell at him back in the day. My grandmother was watching the show with me one time and saw him do all that shaking. She said he looked like he was trying to shake hot ashes off his body. You gotta love old people because they can talk some funny shit. Andy is a four letter word.

vainandy said: Actually, I like the song "Muscles", even though I would never have played a song that slow on a dance show. However, they made up for it when the lady opened the guy's shirt and rubbed that hairy chest. After I recorded the show on DVD, that's the first place I went back to and hit the "zoom" button.

according to tvguide.com, this weekend's episode has freddie jackson, lace and whodini. Look again, that's next weekend. I checked tvguide.com and saw that also. Then I went and checked WGN's website and I see tragedy has struck. The episode they were originally going to air with The Dazz Band and Run DMC for this weekend has been replaced with a damn St. Patrick's Day Parade. Fuck a damn St. Patrick's Day Parade! At 11:30 that night, the Soul Train Music Awards will air on WGN. Fuck that too! Anyway, I checked the TV Listings at Yahoo so I could check the our local station that airs Soul Train at 11:30 p.m. on Saturdays. They still have Soul Train scheduled for this Saturday night with The Dazz Band and Run DMC. I wonder if that is incorrect because I can't see us here in little ole Jackson, Mississippi getting Soul Train this weekend and no one else getting it. Anyway, the episode for next weekend, they can keep. That's definately late 1980s and Freddie Jackson is one of the ones that helped slow down and fuck up R&B to where there would eventually be nothing fast enough for a dance show like Soul Train. Hell, it might be possibly three weeks before they air another good episode. Ain't this a bitch!!!! Andy is a four letter word.

The Carl Carlton interview was funny..my man had sweat and S-Curl juice running all down his face during the interview. I hope they play the episode when Vanity peformed solo (I think it was during the "Wild Animal" era)..dudes in the crowd were going ballistic..holding up dollar bills. Still waiting on the Bootsy show. Yeah, Carl was the inspiration for Soul Glow! Somebody should have brought my man a towell or something. So he could have wiped off his forehead. But that shit was accurate. Hell, I had several Jheri Curls and Worlds of Curls products should have made me their spokesman, shit. But, I was always aware of not having the "wet fo' head" look. That shit was just not happening. Plenty of sistas was sporting it too. For some reason, I never dug that look on a girl. I always dug the blow dried look myself. Ola Ray was the only one that I dug that had a curl. Vanity was poised as fuck though. I dug how when Don said that if anyone needed to get in touch with them, they know where to find them. And then Vanity, very savvy like and quick witted, said "777-9311". U talking about a plug! That was cool. And yeah Spyz, I'm waiting on Bootsy too. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

according to tvguide.com, this weekend's episode has freddie jackson, lace and whodini. Damn, they need to go back to the 70s!! How come they haven't shown any episodes from the disco era (1977,1978,1979)??! That's what I really want to see. I do like Lace's hit "My Love Is Deep" but I agree with Vainandy, they can keep this episode.

Ola Ray!!!! LOL..Now that's a blast from the past B! Yeah she rocked the S-curl real good. Olivia from "Miami Vice" wore it well too.

That had a song in 1984 that was decent called "Self Conscience". That had an absolute JAM in 1986 called "That's It (Don't Stop)"....especially the 12 Inch. Andy is a four letter word.

...Big Booty Judy. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 Naw Bruh, it was Big Booty Trudy, and boy did she. She actually was/is married to the guy who played Rock's younger Brother on the show "Rock". He was last seen on the WB/CW show called "The Game" as the coach. With regard to Soul Train, I keep hearing everyone mention the espisode with Bootsy Collins, what made that espisode so great? I don't recall seeing it, did something happen, or is it because Bootsy is such a bad brotha? Like u David, I also love that period. I'll take it back a bit to 75-79. But yeah, that period was super magical. Magic was everywhere. It was that thick. That's why u don't see people look like that anymore. I'm not talking about the clothes or the hair. I'm talking about the look in people's faces. In their eyes. In their soul. Very rarely do u see that. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I never saw the episode w/ Bootsy back in the day. I was surprised to hear that he was even on the show considering he was a huge star back then.

Dig, I actually got to met Olivia back in 90. My band at that time, Amalgam, was one of the bands playing at this Black Rock Coalition fest that was a tribute to Hendrix at the Music Machine out here in So.Cal. My band along with Tori Ruffin, who had Civil Rite, were there along with Billy Bass Nelson and some other bands. Anyway, Olivia was the host of the festival. Man, as fine as she was that night, she was just as cool. It was such a turn on cuz she knew her music and was so easy going. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz.
