Marc Cary -- Focus: One of the best albums of the year, and, quite frankly, one of the best recent jazz albums I've heard in some time.

Ghostface -- Fishscale: One of hip-hop's elite MCs keeps adding to his resume. More Fish (dropping 12.19.06) is said to be even better.

And my iTunes Christmas smart playlist.

Colin Hay - Waiting For My Real Life To Begin

Found this gem because of Scrubs; prior, I'd always just thought of him as the goofy lead singer of Men at Work. The show gave me a new appreciation of his work; he's actually a very talented and capable songwriter. Always love to come across stuff like this in unlikely places.

Oh my god, I love that album. It rocks and that chick can sing her ass off! Funky psychedelic shit.

For real? I'm expecting it to be more along the lines of a (throwaway) Theodore Unit album.

Just discovered an excellent indie group called MAKENA. Featuring acoustic guitar, excellent songwriting, melodies, arrangements and clean vocals! Check them out!
