She looks fierce and so does her outfit. I really didn't like the video...just a bunch of people jumping around. I think it's way too litereal and the lyrics of the song get lost...unless they are forgettable to begin with. And she's not doing anything interesting either.

I sort of imagined her atop a very tall building in a fantastic dress just singing and then jumping off at the chorus. The song lyrics lend themselves to a better video. IMO. I'm sure its simplicity will do well on MTV. Wait...are you saying that MTV cannot handle anything with any amount of depth?  | |

I love her look and I like the idea of using freerunners I just wish they were in a different city or environment. This is one of my favorite songs on the COAD.

I really like parkour, so I like what the dancers are doing, though it is better to watch a whole routine (e.g., during the Confessions show) than all these short bits edited together. But on the other hand they really capture the energy of the form. http://www.parkour.com/pk/homepage.htm Agree with superspaceboy that her part isn't so interesting, but not sure I expected a lot from this video...sounds like it was put together rather hastily. Not that I expect her to do a routine like Hypnosis and those guys! But...heck, even SSB's suggestion about being on a tall building then (seeming) to jump gives me a more interesting visual. More interesting than the current ending! Maybe with a little more time something else would have been thought up. 
Anyway, overall I liked it. I might wish for something more, but I agree it will play okay on MTV. No reason to ban this one, LOL! And of course I like the song anyway!

I actually found it to be kind of obnoxious. She looks like she's trying to be Britney Spears, and that can't be good! I can't hear the song (because I'm at work), and the visuals alone just aren't doing it for me. I'm also getting a little tired of her crotch thrusting.

You ain't right! I know! It's awful. A Madonna video has never been more messed up. She is barely part of the video. I imagined something with a possible storyline or at least Madonna engaging with dancers like she did in the previous clips. Hopefully it will do well, though. Freerunning can be visually arresting, but this to me is yet another of Maddie's fleeting references to global trend, where good old-fashioned girlpower would have been the wiser choice. ...And if she's gonna milk the Asian thing... again... I'd have enjoyed seeing something bordering on the absurd: Maybe an all-Asian-girl martial arts streetfight or breakdancing battle! To me,"Jump" is "Into The Groove 2005".It has the same feel as that classic.When you get to the chorus of "Jump",try singing the chorus of "Into The Groove". "I just woke up from a fuzzy dream....you never would believe the things that I have seen". | |
