Ticket to Ride - The Carpenters. I also just heard a groovy version of this one by 5th Dimension.
Something - Martha and the Vandellas
We Can Work It Out and A Hard Day's Night - Dionne Warwick (Stevie Wonder and Chaka also did good covers for the former tune)

Rufus Wainwright's cover of "Across the Universe" is lovely. I hear Fiona Apple does a glorious cover of that song as well (RipHer2Shreds could tell you more about this cover.)

I'ma second Stevie Wonder's cover of "We Can Work It Out."

Have you heard the "Strawberry Fields" cover by Candy Flip? Maybe it was the alcohol, but the first time I heard it in a club back in 90/91 I thought it was genius. The remix segues into "Hey Jude".

Haven't seen it, but I know the I Am Sam soundtrack is all Beatles covers.

Oh, & U2 did Helter Skelter, as did Motley Crue
Mother Nature's Son--John Denver
I Call Your Name--Mamas & Papas
You Won't See Me--Anne Murray

Yeah, and if you want REALLY bad, look no further than that last one. It's really dreadful. The Four Tops trying to sing the French verses in Michelle is terrible, but ole Connery blabbin' his way through In My Life is a mess!

I feel like there are a million covers of Eleanor Rigby, but I can't think of who did them now. lol

So I guess I'm no help there.

Oh, and there's Siouxsie And The Banshees cover of "Dear Prudence".

I guess I'm also thinking of local bands and street musicians that I've seen do versions recently. I swear, Eleanor Rigby keeps popping up lately wherever I go it seems. lol

Ok...

James Brown did a cool cover of Something... it's different musically.

Ike & Tina Turner do a "raw" version of Come together

Jimi did an awsome version of Day Tripper (on the BBC Sessions).

Jimi has also performed Stg Pepper.
