River Of Dreams Song Appreciation This song is kinda hot for AOR. it's got a killer bassline and a lot of cool vocals. you can tell he likes all that old time religion music.

anyone else digging Billy Joel? I do like this song, but I think he got sued over it. Someone accused him of plagarism. Never heard what the outcome was, though. One of my favorite Billy Joels songs...

One of my favorite Billy Joels songs... I beleive it was dismissed before going close to court. As for the song, it was good for a time, much better LIVE in concert. But as far as the Album itself, its a dreadful album, basically caused Billy to retire. a-ha "foot of the mountain TOUR 2009" a-ha "Ending on a High Note Final TOUR 2010" going everywhere!

Disagree.... The album itself, River of Dreams, was a brilliant album. It was kind of a departure from Billy's usual thing in that it was a little rockier/bluesier than people were used to from him. But it was a fresh sound and the songs on that album were pretty strong. I always thought Billy "retired" partly due to a growing love for classical music and partly from just being lazy.

The song itself is indeed a great pop single. well he hasn't "officially" retired. he's still touring tho.
