Imagine if the Jacksons had added their three sisters (LaToya,Rebbie and Janet) to the group, lol. It would have looked just like the Sylvers lol

If the Jacksons had add Latoya, Rebbie and Janet to their group they would have looked like this:

Look atthose BEAUTIFUL black noses.....

I don't know which albums of theirs to get. I saw all of their albums (except for their first self-titled debut, darn it) and I wasn't sure what to check out if I was looking for some soul music. A couple looked like disco records.

I just sold my "Best of the Sylvers" CD from 1995 on Ebay for $136. So, somebody still loves them! The cut everyone was/is nuts about is Foster Sylvers "Misdemeanor" from 1973, which you'd swear was the Jackson 5 in their PRIME. That track is stunning. Just absolutely amazing. RIDICULOUSLY so.

Also, as a side note, Angie Sylvers was rumored to be fucking around with Tom Jones back in the 70s when she was 14 or 15 years old. Tom was, uh, older than that. My homeboy went to Hollywood High with her, and he said Tom used to come by in the afternoon and pick her up in limo and shit and had her iced out.

FOR REAL?

POOK HAVE SHOWCASE LP IN REAL SPIFFY CONDITION

HOW MUCH THAT WORTH?

The Sylvers were awesome! There were so many talented families back in 60-70's.
If the Sylvers were copying the Jacksons, then the Jacksons were copying the Five Stairsteps. Whatcha know about the Burke family."Ooh Child", "Dear Prudence". They were very funky and had plenty of Curtis Mayfields' productions.
And yes "Only One can Win" and "Wish That I Could Talk To You" by the Sylvers are simply amazing. I'm positive that all of those groups had an effect on prince in his formative years. Especially his hair!
