About Lola Folana: Last I heard about her she was sick with some physical disease that caused her to stop performing, plus I thought she too had gotten into some religion as well.

Irene Cara: Last time I looked her up on the net she was still singing and formed some group. I never heard whether she had children even though I noticed her frame has spreaded out. Maybe it's age spread and I don't know if she was still married to that white guy she married around 87/88.

On Vh1's where are they now, Fame the movie, she spoke about how the music industry blackballed her because they wouldn't pay her and she demanded to be payed, so nobody would have nothing to do with her. This I knew nothing about. All I know is her last album was Carasmatic in 87 and the last time I seen her on television was on Gabriel's Fire with James Earl Jones playing his estranged daughter.

I work in the Music biz, and a few years back I had some minor contact with Irene Cara. let me tell you - she's bonkers ! Maybe that explains why her career went south ...

I JUSTED READ AN ARTICLE ON IRENE CARA. SHE HAS A BAND IN FLORIDA AND WORKING ON AN ALBUM THAT SHOULD BE OUT BY THE END OF THIS YEAR.

I remember reading that she sued her record company and won a hugh amount of money. I don't doubt that she may have had a drug problem but I would be skeptical about the crazy issue. It seems anyone that bitchs about getting ripped off in the music industry is deemed crazy and loads of people have drug problems.

I saw Irene Cara a few years ago on one of those 70s Disco TV specials.Oddly enough,she performed her 1983 non-disco hit "Flashadance...What A Feeling"
