“Someday, historians of Texas music will stumble across this tape and realize what Merle, Willie, Timbuk 3 and Blaze’s few hard-core fans already know – one of Texas’ most promising songwriters was tragically cut down long before his time.” - Lee Nichols, Daily Texan
‘When you put the Live at the Austin Outhouse tape on, Blaze is all of sudden in the room.” - Townes Van Zandt I think everyone should have heard this record at least once. Blaze foley was a genius and deserves every bit of respect. His songwriting is as imaginitive and moving as kris kristofferson...His voice tells the story better than any lyrics could...a lot of living went into his performances and when he sings his songs about lonelyness, disillusion and alienation you have no problem believing he lived it all. This guy is without a doubt one of the greatest songwriters in the past 30 years...it's a shame his career never got the break it deserved...and after his untimely death only two albums worth of material remain of this modern day troubadour...If you ever going to take someones advice on music...take this one! you won't regret it. listen to 'if I could only fly here: http://www.lostartrecords...ly_fly.mp3 "Blaze Foley's 'If I Could Only Fly' is the best country song I’ve heard in 15 years,"
- Merle Haggard RON PAUL REVOLUTION
