I love the first SWV album 'It's About Time'.Remember jams like "I'm So Into You","Weak","You're Always On My Mind" and "Right Here"? Played that CD to death back in 92/93! Last I heard, the girls were back in the studio, recording a new album.Has anyone heard any updates?

I also liked the first album by Jade. And EnVogue's second CD 'Funky Divas' is an early-90s classic.

For Real had one good track that I liked, Like I Do. There was a remix of it that benefited from a sample by the SOS Band. Good song! I really don't think a good portion of the 90's vocal groups (male or female) were really memorable. I think most of them had a decent cut here and there, but on the whole they didn't do much for me. I must admit to having a soft spot for the trashiness of Total, but in the long run the only ones that did anything for me were En Vogue and SWV.

I agree. I have tons of albums by many of the artists listed above, some of them I still put on, but most of them I hardly listen to nowadays.. but En Vogue stand out here over the rest... they had style and class... in many ways... so I won't do a complete ranking here, but EnVogue would defintely be my No.1 here
Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

I've known Nikki of Divine since she was a little girl - we attended the same church and sang on the choir together. Saw her about three months ago. She was with her fiance. She said that the group just sort of fizzled out - they never actually broke up. Record company issues and stuff. She doesn't really sing much anymore. I wanted her to sing on some of my material but she moved out of Jersey - her job was moving. She's still gorgeous and the nicest person you could meet. She always could sing - it was such a surprise, though - one day she just let the voice rip at choir rehearsal and we were like - whoa smile

Don't know what happened to the other girls...

She's currently dating Sisqo.

Personally, I thought she looked like a man. I believe she lives someplace in Ireland.

I LOVE all of Total's hits, and loved them in LL's "Loungin'" remix. That was the greatest song!

En Vogue is great, doesn't even need to be said when mentioning girl groups.

TLC is my favorite girl group of all-time, hands down.

I loved Kut Klose in Keith Sweat's "Twisted"

Jade's "Don't Walk Away", LOVE it!
'Cause your friends don't dance, and if they don't dance... well, they're no friends of mine.

I heard one of the girls from Divine was working for Allstate.

Also, on an unrelated note, my brother saw Kiree (sp?) of the Boys. He has some workaday job somewhere in LA.

Sweet N' Lo: Thank you...I've been trying to think of the name of the group that had that song gimme that 40 dawg...I remember the video so clearly but for the life of me I could'nt think of the song, I knew it was two girls and I remember one girl rapping. I bought the single when it came out years ago. I did'nt feel like going through all my cd's to find it (i'm currently putting my collection in some type of order).

Pretty in Pink: Chaka Khan's daughter was in this group (the one with the long braids). I bought the CD when it came out for "All About You". I must say that she did not inherit her mother's powerful/soulful pipes. The voice may have matured for the better over the years but I doubt it.

Pure Soul: I used to love their song "We Must Be In Love".

Teri and Monica which were The Gyrlz minus one member used to sing back up for Al B. Sure and Al B. sure and his cousin Kyle West put their album together. If It's Games You're Playing" was my song.

Where in the hell is Zhane, Brownstone and Jade???
Ohhh you keep saying stay the niiiiiiiiight
Just let me rock you 'til the morning liiiiiiight
It's cold outside
And much too late to driiiiiiiive
You know I need you baby
I'm so lost without your love
