Listen

This must be one of his most slept on albums. There's some very slick arrangements on here and the lyrics are a lot of fun too.

I miss Johnny Guitar Watson. He was a phenomenal singer and musician. I had his first top-charting album, A Real Mother For Ya. He was pushing his mother in a large baby carriage! His music was so funky, deep, bluesy and powerful, with that unique Johnny Guitar style, that around my way then people called his music "pimp music" because of his dressing, coolness, the potent funk, blues style he possessed and pimps loved him and his music. He was on a radio show in NYC, had a new song played from his last album, toured overseas, and died there Japan a month later. I wanted that album, but no title or information was ever given to me by the DJ's or anyone. Would anyone here know the name of that album so I can get it??? RIP, Brother Johnny.

I used to have that album in vinyl untill some young family member did god knows what in my fuckin' basement, so know a bitch can't find it anywhere else mad

Def right,,,,that sucka is one of his most over-looked. Nobody can groove that space guitar better than him(David Hazel, Bootsy, Irnie Isley learned alot of stuff from him when it comes to streching the chordes and what not).

Etta James sho loves her some Mr.Watson. Just give her a chance to ramble about him and don't wait till she stops lol!

His 50's records are very BONIFIED yet overlooked at the same time,,,,altho it was kinda understandable since he was jumping on the Chuck Berry bandwagon like the rest back then. Even tho he mentained his playing individuality!
