Glam Slam L.A. I wanted 2 know who else besides me miss that place, i saw Prince Play there twice and had a good dam time, i met 2pac there and he was a cool cat but then something happened the gangsters took over it's a shame cause that was one cool ass place 2 party,oh... and parking was the wrost or at least all the times i was there. | |

I used to dance there alot. I met so many women there and always had a blast. nothing like standing at the foot of the stage while Prince was playing his guitar right in front of me. The only problem I had was that Prince wasn't very good about keeping a schedule and you can only hang out in a night club so many times and be screwed over before you start to stay home. Do I look familiar to you? Maybe you saw me there. the official GIRLY GIRL of the Lesbian wing of the Prince.org. Accept no substitutes!!! | |

I LOVED going to Glam Slam when it was open. The women were off the hook, I saw Prince fuck the place up at least two times, and the general vibe was on. I drove from Long Beach damn near every weekend for months to go to G.S. LA. I thought it was a travesty when it closed, as it kind of ruined me for other clubs in the LA area...or anywhere for that matter. But you're right...one nite I was standing in line and the crowd was visibly different....lots of playas and what not, thugs, etc. The word got out. I remember thinking that the club as it was couldn't last, and, it didn't. __________________________________________________

That place was cool. Ten years ago this month I drove down from SF with a friend and saw a great show at Glam Slam. P tore it up at the VH-1 Honors, then performed at the club that night. Stevie Wonder and Mavis Staples came out to jam...and it was easy to meet celebs including Sandra Bullock, Ice T, Berry Gordy, Sheila E, Jerome and others.

I went there a couple of days before my 21st birthday and they let me in. Surprising.
