For years I though the line in Vicki Waiting was ...."is my character enough to be, and what a difference the coffee made" instead of "one that deserves a copy made"

and my friend still insist that in Insatiable it say "Take it slow babe and have some wine" instead of "Take it slow babe,lets unwind" (I hope IM right!!!)

Has anyone else had any funny run ins with Prince Lyrics that would have them cringing if they knew theyd been singing the wrong thing out loud

For ages I thought the lyric in In A large Room With No Light was a picture of a woman with a dick in her hand rather than A picture of a woman with a drink in her hand

Perhaps that says something about me...

& I always thought it was:

I did'nt even considered it might B wrong,just that Prince was a bit wiered at times,lol

Recently I thought Prince kept saying "Bitch" in ICPC.
Otherwise I got quite a few things wrong, they just don't come to mind atm.

I thought the line was "Does the city know, when the rocket ship explodes" instead on "Is it silly, no" from Sign o the Times

"Please come....please come.....COME!"

instead of

"He's coming....he's coming...COMING!"

from Let's Go Crazy. I still think it sounds more like the former to this day!

I think it is "dick in her hand" because afterall the image is disturbing to the mother seeing that her child drew a picture of a woman with a dick in her hand standing next to a child with no eyes. That's much more disturbing than a drink. The drink could just be water....

And.....people mishear a lyric in Tamborine.

"All alone by myself me and I play my tamborine.....troubling.

Many people think it's trampoline. However if you consider the context of the song, it's clear that he's frustrated at having to be alone. Hence, it is "troubling" him...

Had been hearing: "She do it for the youth, but she couldn't dance" for a while in ICPC, until I actually read the lyrics. (Never mind that I already had to make my own sense of what the hell "chips & whips" was all about....)

My friend had Erotic City from Livesexy down as starting: "Stand to the power on the 2 and 4 ...", and the beginning of the verse as: "Oh, my purple eyes / I've been looking for a dream" - and he took the piss out of me, when I told him what they actually were.....!

but prince.org says it's:

Nah - it IS "swim in your love sea" Im sure of it...loveseat sounds like the kind of wacky thing you would come up with if you have misheard

I allways thought it meant that "me" was hard to overcome or to face or to handle for "u". but ofcourse it has another meaning...

when its actually that french saying "Vous a tres...(something) mama girls and boys"....
