How much was the settlement when Prince and Mayte divorced? Did he pay a set amount, like Michael Jackson paid his ex-wife, or is Mayte receiving monthly or yearly alimony?

I read that she got the house in Spain and $250,000 a year for the next 20 years. I think the House in Spain was valued around 6 million so this would mean her settlement was around 11,000,000 give or take. Not bad.

Why is she entitled to anything? He pulled her from absolute obscurity and gave her a career in dance. He bought her a dance company. He didn't have any hits while he was married to her, so all of his money was pretty much made before they were hitched. I just don't get Hollywood Justice.

the 250,000 is correct, as is the home in marabella. and to papasmurf and jessymd...i agree with you papa, she didn't deserve all that. the home would have sufficed or the money...not both. she knew who he was and what he was about before they married. i don't think the company is in operation anymore...at least not under the new power dance company name. but the studio was bought and paid for. her name was out there and she should certainly have made some connections. her career was in the bag. i think p got robbed.

i did remember hearing about the 25o grand a year thing and her getting the house in spain, i heard this on some news magazine show, access hollywood or one of those, u know thats not bad considering what he's worth, shit she could have got a peace of all future albums and tours, but this is what scares me about marriage, u and ur wife split and u have to finace her banging other guys, thats just wrong
