Kid Rock on Prince...

From an interview with Kid Rock in today's St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Q. You're going to be a presenter at the Rock and Roll Hall of fame next week. Is there anyone you're excited to meet? Like Prince?

A.Nah. I'm not really excited to meet Prince (laughs). I really couldn't care less. I appreciate his music, and I think he's very talented. But for some reason I don't think it'd be very much fun to hang out with the guy.


I thought it was funny (and true), but I'm sure some fams here will be offended and say things like, "Fuck Kid Rock he's a no talent hack". big grin

You guys gotta understand that almost everyone in the entertainment industry has a huge ego,Prince included. Having said that, theese two are in the same feild of work, of course Kid Rock isn't going to be too complementry of Prince. He's probably thinking that Prince should be exited to meet him.
I don't think what K.R. said was all that bad. It was definatly a half assed diss though.
Kid Rock couldn't have fun with anyone who didn't smoke tons of weed drink till he passed out and hang out at trailer parks. Prince should be complemented.

Prince is very misunderstood. He is a musical genius, who could make a song with just the drum sticks, if he wanted,too. This is not the intellect of common folk, and you cant really expect him to "fit" in. The highly creative folk tend to be of the same shy dispositon, and I dont normally talk like this, but....

KID ROCK REALLY IS A NO- TALENT HICK- he just has a persona that was marketable for some record company.

Oh come on now, Prince has a long reputation of being odd or just downright difficult with others, including reporters and other celebs.

I agree with Thread that is was probabbly just a knee-jerk comment. Maybe he just doesn't want to be bothered with Prince's inflated ego, much like Trent Reznor.

Kid Rock doesn't have to be the best musician in the world to be allowed to comment on whether or not he wants to meet and hang out with someone.

i remember reading an interview with P quite some time ago where he was going on about Mrs. Ani Difranco, and he said

"She is a true artist, unlike..." & then pointed to the cover of Rolling Stone with Kid Rock on it.

Kid Rock is inducting Bob Seger into the H.O.F.

it has been said that 'Purple Rain' was written by P in direct response to the "popularity" of Bob Seger. Back in the day when they were both touring, their tour paths would cross and Prince didn't understand why Seger's music was so popular.

So, he wrote PR in "the style" of Seger.
