I'm pretty sure I'm not the only 1 who thoiught that the chorus in When Doves Cry was:

"Maybe I'm just like my father, TWOFOLD"

It always made sense to me - I'm like my father, twofold: you're just like my mother.

And then there's the organgrinder debate on Tambourine/trampoline...
"We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

"That's becuase we're soulless auttomatons"

One of my favourite tracks is I could never take the place of your man. For years I sung along with Prince, "She was standin by the FIRE, Hmmm she was looking alright".

Then just this past weekend from out of nowhere, she was standing by the BAR. I heard it clear as day and couldn't believe it!

I know it's freaky isn't it?

I even checked the lyrics with the CD and they say bar too, still messes with my mind now.

I thought it was fire as well. That is a little freaky.

Also, there's the age-old mystery about the lyrics of 'Sister':

**'She's the reason for my, uh, sexuality'
**'She's the reason for my, bi-sexuality'
**'She's the reason for my, uh, bi-sexuality'

I thought he says " She's the reason for my overt sexuality".

BTW for UK orgers: The Lightning Seeds got their name after singer Ian Broudie misheard a lyric in Raspberry Beret as " Thunder drowns out what the lightning seeds ". True!
