I Would Die 4 U-The 30 Minutes Long Version

I neva appreciated IWD4U till I heard this piece. I still don't really fantasize the released version simply becoz it doesn't have that psychedelic instrumental in the long version. Whew,,,now that was a hot one indeed,,,lil' abit of everything. I love the sick/twisted sound esp at the end and Prince when "Gimme some o' that space,," something, I didn't catch the rest.

Sheila E. was doing the mean do with her bad ass self in that joint. But I'd love 2 know who did all these crazy Piano solos? Was that Prince? It sounded abit like Herbie Hencock.

Anyway I that piece, how about you?

It's great to have finally yeah - but to be honest I find it too strung-out to listen to in one go

I much prefer the 12" mix - which incidently was edited from the 30minute marathon. Now that is tight kick ass choon with latin samba galore!

Where does one find the 30 minute version? Is it a boot?

What is the source of the 30 minute version? Is it from a concert? Is is a live studio jam? Is it a studio version?

the 30 min+ version was recorded in october 1984
during rehearsals for the Purple Rain tour. It
was edited down to about 10 minutes for the 12"
release.

I agree, it's saxy.
