Prince has release several consecutive albums of instrumentals –
Because he hasn’t nothing 2 say “or Reluctant Silence”
He made attempts 2 take us where he’s at lyrically & maybe philosophically with “TRC” release & very few have anything nice 2 say regarding it’s lyrical content.

He has no desire 2 write music that made him famous, but that is what his fanatics know him 4. I have followed his career since he was singing backup with Morris,
We all remember how his music made us feel in the past, recall old-great times that are long gone. I think that is why I still listen 2 him –Thanks P 4 the memories.

I’m assuming he has lost a large population of his fan-base throughout this decade.
IMO P probably has several thousands songs in his Vault, some w/ lyrics some without. But if P doesn’t want 2 sing the lyrics of his past, he has no songs by definition in the vault & must re-write them all.
Or
Release them as Instrumentals
