Anyone else waiting for a price break on SOTT Super Deluxe?

With tax and all I imagine it's around $180 or so? For CDs. It doesn't even come with an Amazon rip so you can stream it. My 1000 or so CDs are lying around like garbage (I used to take such good care of them) because I just don't have the room.

So saying that.

I haven't been able to justify needing to pay that amount for CDs.

But hit $99 or so and I'm in!

Of course I've been listening to the track

Y'all?

Cool. Thanks. Good to know. Does that include shipping? Is it the U.S. version?

Does not include shipping, tax or extra weight fee.

I was waiting on a "price break" for 1999 Deluxe last year, now it's like 250 bucks if you can find one... still waiting. Same thing with the ole "back order" ruse.... Could be a bit of a wait there too.

I did the same thing with 1999 Deluxe. I think I eventually picked it up for $50 or so. I noticed that on Ebay and such now 1999 is selling for well over $150. That price jump got me thinking it might be a good idea to buy several copies of SOTT Super Deluxe to eventually put on Ebay?. But, who knows if it will do the same thing?

If you buy digital at some point it will cost less. As for physical copy, I doubt that the price will drop. The Purple Rain deluxe didn't.

I visited my local wreka stow (UK) on Saturday for RSD and the owner tells me the SDE vinyl is now available from his wholesalers to retail at £162.50 - i ordered mine straight away at that price!

It's limited and will likely only increase in value. The only reason for a price drop would be a surplus of stock.

Really? Spending $200 on CDs when I barely listen to CDs anymore? Really who listens to CDs? As for the packaging I don't need it and have no place for it. Once upon a time, I treated all my CDs and DVDs and Blu Rays like royalty and now I have no space for them and many are basically glorified cup holders.

Or if I compare it to say... Friday the 13th Collection which just came out and is less money.

And for music, a lot of it anyway, that I've owned for over 35 years or so? There's this thing called streaming...

In my world that's a lot of money to spend on CDs unless you're planning to sit around and listens to CDs.

Well if there's a surplus of stock the price could continue to go down. There would be no demand for an after-market if there's plenty of them for "new." So, depending on various factors, it could go either way. I think they learned quite a bit with 1999.

Your best bet might be purchasing the Digital Wav files.
It runs around $96

I held off on buying 1999 deluxe set and then it quickly sold out,
No way I would pay the jacked up ebay prices.
I'm fine with the digital files.

I was afraid the SOTT SDE will sell out too.
So i pre ordered my copy.

I know it was out of stock on a few sites.
Not sure if that is permanent or not

I dont expect the price to drop

PS You're best not to wait. The expanded stuff won't be reprinted once it's gone. Get a PayPayl credit line, or something to pay it off, and get yourself a set of the CDs or LPs, before they're gone. Or pay thru the nose on eBay or Amazon later.

you mentioned amazon doesnt have the autorip but why would you want the autorip if you dont even want the cds? you know you can buy the downoad for half the price of the cds right? if you think youll ever find the cds at that price youre nuts. theyll be sold out long before they ever get that low. you either clearly dont want the set at all,or just want the download, so buy that then. how is this so hard to figure out?

I think this topic is pure trolling and should be closed.
.
The plain pleasure of owning piano instrumentals of Wendy and Lisa, 3 remixes of Hot Thing and liner notes by Dave Chappelle, worth at least 200$, maybe even 250$.
.
If you don't have the room for this boxset, just put it under your pillow. Then maybe you will hear Soul Psychodelicide in " All Your Dreams", and you will take a bath with a naked Dorothy Parker.
.
That s the magic of this boxset, the magic and the pleasure to pay 200$ for seeing different photos of Prince in the same outfit

I really can't believe you typed all that out despite the fact you can buy the digital set.

Well if you don't want the CDs (because you apparently treat your CDs like crap, for some reason), won't listen to the CDs, don't want to spend money on CDs and don't even think that anyone listens to CDs anymore, and you're so enamoured with streaming, which is how you've been listening to the set anyway...

maybe don't buy the friggin' CDs?

That might make more sense that bitching about how the CDs that you don't want should be cheaper.

Jeez.
