Nah, Prince is the best thing to see, but I'm a chick, so I guess that makes sense for me. Although, if I were a guy I'd have to go with Lisa, who looks sweet but still sexy in an understated way, AND she's playing the keys which is even better. To me Jill just looks like a tall muppet with a bushy bleached wig jumping around in her underwear. biggrin

To each his own. She was fine as a background singer, but I’ve never thought her voice was anything special.

Yeah I never really thought Jill was that attractive. Especially compared to some of the other women in Prince's orbit. I certainly wouldn't have traded Vanity for her.
A certain kind of mellow.

I got amped up when I saw it on my Youtube feed. I had to check my collection and I have this complete concert on dvd and it looks about the same quality. Amazing how VHS in the early 80's is what 4k HD is now. I'm happy we are able to get some vault material. Now all the Estate has to do for me is put out rehersal videos footage from the 80's.

Are you absolutely sure? The video in circulation ends with 'Automatic', and the quality is inferior compared to the new release in every way.

Yet U had no problem listening to her vocals on practically EVERY song Prince(r.i.p.) recorded in the 80's, including guide and fill in vocals for Apples,Sheila E. & the beautiful DROP DEAD GORGEOUS Denise(r.i.p.) herself(whom he wrote the heartbreaking ballad TBO about).

Of course Jill's not apart of the "pl--t-tio- s--t--s" & crew who could do no wrong to U. rolleyes

Um, Lisa’s vocals were in the mix just as much as Jill’s were. Jill was singing for Susan M during the V6 days, not Vanity. And Susannah also filled in on a few of the A6 tracks, as well as, MANY of the fans’ most loved songs during the ‘85-‘87 time frame. So please, spare me your little tantrums and signature “eye roll” emoji lol

PS. You too must realize how ridiculous and shocking that label is or you would have written it in full text. Didn’t realize we were playing the “pick a letter” game confused

....and the last time I checked it was Jill Jones making blatantly rude statements about The Revolution and others in the camp (namely Susannah) during her interviews - NOT the others. She clearly has some unresolved issues about her time in the camp, and she first made that clear in her 2013 interview for the Beautiful Nights blog.

Seeing him smile so much is both heartbreaking and exhilarating.

He was 24 in December 1982. But yeah, that's a happy Prince we see there. Just breaking through and thrilled about it. He couldn't forecast the oppressive fame that would come within two years.

I just don't see it. Something weird with the shape of her mouth. I do think she stood out more with the bleach blonde short hair though - the whole Marilyn Monroe thing. Other than that, I think she looks like any average brunette. JUST my opinion.

If you like her jumping around in her undies then ya gotta search up the video she did for "Boom Boom" in the late 80's. Yikes!! Serious bumping and grinding in that one biggrin

She certainly was a beautiful girl, but it seems the drama and baggage that came along with that ride became tiresome - especially for someone like Prince, who wanted full control and also that double standard of "I can cheat, but you can't." I think Wonderful Ass sums it all up very well.

U obviously don't like Jill(whom can write her own book and it will be a page turner). Jill tells THE TRUTH! However it may come off to U is your opinion. I will ALWAYS respect her for that. Look whose front, centered, & featured, leading background vocals on the FIRST promotional project of the fourthcoming 1999 deluxe package Jill! Who actually sung clearly on the lead single '1999' JILL?

I bet she's thrilled about watching it and should be. Jill(whom I saw sing live a couple of years ago hit EVERY note and blew the audience TOTALLY away. Her voice has range. Obviously it does since both my favorite female singer Teena Marie(r.i.p.) & Prince(r.i.p.) both snatched her up quickly.

It helps when your actually there to witness greatness for every event in person. instead of having to google and search for EVERY COMMENT U make to try to unsuccessfully prove a point or have the last word.. biggrin

Oh Lord....she always tells the truth?? You've got to be kidding, right?? Her interview with Prince Podcast was ALL over the place with multiple explanations for things - like why she wasn't around after Purple Rain, and what she did after she left the Prince camp. She is one contradiction after the other in her interviews

*

Bahhahhhahhaa!! Teena Marie "snatched" her up quickly??? Jill's MOTHER was managing Teena, and Teena was Jill's "babysitter" based on Jill's statements. Teena talked her into going on the road with her. Per Jill's own statements she didn't even initially want to be a singer. And Prince snatched her up quickly?? What fantasy world did you escape to?? She FIRST MET Prince on the Rick James tour in 1980, however, she did not officially join the Prince camp until Summer of 1983. I would not call THREE years from their first meeting "snatching her up quickly". Per Jill, Prince was flying out to LA and Jill would chauffeur him around on dates with various women (Ola Ray being one of them), and eventually she began hooking up with him and going to the studio with him while he recorded 1999.

*

Hey, here's a BIG newsflash for ya! JILL WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE SINGING LEAD ON 1999 omfg There was another much more talented girl singing right along with her....oh, and she was also playing the keyboards as well!!! Her name is LISA COLEMAN biggrin

*

I would say that if Jill is your favorite female singer than you best get out there and listen to some more music lol Meanwhile, here's a good "food for thought" question for ya:

*

Compared to Wendy & Lisa, and Susannah too - what accomplishments has Jill Jones had in the music industry since she left Prince's camp in 1990?? Think on that one and get back to me lol
