The Original Bass Line in When Doves Cry?

I don't suppose anybody has ever heard the The Original Bass Line in When Doves Cry that Prince's engineer said he took out?

And what that synth sounded like that he also took out?

“When Doves Cry,” Prince’s first big hit from 1984’s “Purple Rain,” was cut in 35 to 40 hours over two days.

“It was just overproduced,” McCreary noted. “As the early morning hours were going on, he started taking things out. He took the synth out. At the end of the session, he took the bass out. I looked at him and he said: ‘Nobody’s going to believe I did this.’ It was like 7 a.m. when he finished that song.”

Listen to the live version Syracuse. Does that give us any hints, like the 17 Days live version birthday show June 1984?

Supposedly the original mix of WDC has a tsunami of scorching guitars through it too...similar to the intro riff...

Confusion /...what is this initial version? Those well informed here are talking about the mix only with the bass unedited and other like McCreary is talking about a much overproduced version with Synths/Guitar parts and Bass present in this initial take ? So where is the truth about it?

These previous mixes might all be from the same single multitrack master where he quickly layered on tracks with the intention of streamlining later. “Holly Rock” on “Originals” might be an example of him making a crowded mix that was then most likely already paring down in his mind... to be actually chiseled down after many listens in different environments. Or after the new lead vocal (and any special session player instrumentation) was applied... as is with “Holly Rock”

For all we know, the super crowded produced mix of “Cross the Line” would have been pared down too if at had made the final cut... but actually most of that album, “Lovesexy” was about crowding the mixes quickly and just putting it out as a energetic cacophony.

I feel like P was fully embracing that overcrowded style cacophony funk around 87-88

imprimis

In the same manner as other cluttered Early/Mid-1984 Production: 'Traffic Jam', '100 MPH'.

...

I already told you in the other topic...
She's talking about version #1: the full on version with a bass (I was told there's also a full on version without the bass, I don't doubt it but I've never heard or seen any evidence of it...)
This is the version she's talking about... ("Full on" meaning everything-but-the-kitchen-sink version...)

(Version #2 is the released version with a different bass line...)
(Version #3 is the "theme" version that was considered for scenes in the movie...)

No...
That's a mash up with some "Computer Blue" elements thrown in...

It'd be a curiousity but I bet it's an absolute mess, like that unedited version of U Got the Look that's incredibly boring.

Well obviously. I'd of course be curious to hear it as a fan, but god knows where it would end. The version of 1999 with all the vocals? Entire albums with all edits removed and everything mixed back in? On the one hand i'm all for it - release it all, every stem and every track he ever recorded; but on the other - what a mess it'd quickly become.
