We Can Funk

Which version?

-

I love all versions.

The first (bootleg) version, because of the rawness of it.

The album version because of the great drum track and percussion, and the great vocal.

I will dig up my T's 12" 2.0 flacs to listen to some funky 12" to decide which one I like best.

Any other sources I should check?

No one has mentioned Face Down???? It's almost like a James Brown but Prince is rapping instead of instead of going into preacher mode like Mr. Brown

Yup. Especially live. "Play that motherfuckin' bass!"

When I have had a few, and my wife drives home from where ever we are, I play DJ in the passenger seat. Of course, I cue up my Prince songs.

Now, my wife is cool, but not nearly as funky as I am. In recognition of this, I skip over what seems like every other song, giving my wife the reasoning that "This song is too funky for you".

She never disputes this.

two words.

Jug * Head

Shits on all the other pussyass songs y'all funkless fools mentioned.

It's so funky James Brown was suicidal when P dropped that jam. It made Sly Stone go homeless and Rufus Thomas retire.

It shattered Richter scales worldwide.

Tony M. belongs in the R&R Hall Of Fame.

Especially when "Hey Hannigan" funks so hard that those doing the Jughead can only break down and cry.
