Brian Eno / Prince question

"Prince, for example, said Another Green World was a very important record for him, apparently, in an interview."

https://pitchfork.com/features/interview/7723-brian-eno/

In what interview Prince say this?

IDK the answer but I agree with that. Same age, and Another Green World was a key album. Bought it on vinyl when it came out.

Avalon

Avalon was by Roxy Music, yes, a band he used to be in but had left way before Avalon.

Music For Airports is awesome.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yes. But as usual with break-ups, it was a gray area.

The band's final studio album was Avalon (1982), which became platinum-certified in the United States.[9] In 2005 the band began recording a new studio album, which would have been their ninth, and would have been their first record since 1973 with Brian Eno, who wrote two songs for it and also played keyboards.[10] However, Bryan Ferry eventually confirmed that material from these sessions would be released as a Ferry solo album, with Eno playing on "a couple of tracks",[11] and that he doesn't think they'll ever record as Roxy Music again...wiki

The parts you bolded refer to the aborted 2005 album, not Avalon. Eno had no involvement in Avalon.

And add me as another who doesn’t recall ever hearing Prince mention Another Green World. Eno’s amazing, but he also got quite the ego - I know someone who worked as his assistant for a few years, and they’ve got some STORIES!

Yes, I know that now. Just pointing out that Ferry was going to put out some stuff with Eno on it in 2005.

I was corrected by rdhull upthread about the Avalon album. He and you are correct, no Eno, but I still liked it. A certain time in my life.

lol A suprising amount of good artists are real pricks.

I'll never forget the first time I heard 'the main thing'. Revelatory. Definitely a certain time.
