Purple Rain, Side A or B? I was listening tonight, thinking to myself...
Which side is better. If I had to choose only one, giving up the other forever, which would I pick? Tough decision...difficult to ponder... Side A Let’s Go Crazy Take Me With U Beautiful Ones Computer Blue Darling Nikki Side B When Doves Cry I Would Die 4 U Baby I’m a Star Purple Rain Tonight, I would go with A. I couldn’t stand to not hear Beautiful Ones and Computer Blue, ever again. Tomorrow, I may feel different. Anyone have an opinion on this terrible, masochistic thought? Sorry, can't choose between these 2. Once I put it on, I have to listen to the whole thing in it's entirety, or something feels unfinished. Not my favorite album of his, (SOTT is) but still must listen to it all. Pretty sure that's the way he wanted it too.........................

Side B was all singles pretty much. I've heard them to death. Side A has the variety. Rock, ballad, pop, everything. "  don’t really care so much what people say about me because it is a reflection of who they r." |

I have to go with Side B. The first three songs just makes me want to dance and Purple Rain closes it out nicely. | |

Side B.
Side A has Take Me With U (which is dragged down by Appolonia, and I've always thought Prince captured the whole "dreamy love song" thing better with Raspberry Beret). Computer Blue is really better heard in its entirety instead of the 3:59 edit on the actual album. A certain kind of mellow. |

Given that I Would Die For You and Purple Rain are some of my least favourite Prince tracks ever, there's no comparison. Side A all the way. Paisley Park is in your heart - Love Is Here! |

Side A ALL THE WAY. I know it's a matter of personal preference, but Let's Go Crazy, The Beautiful Ones, COMPUTER BLUE seguing into Darling Niki....THE BEST. | |
