I remember reading somewhere here that the guitar he used NEVER WORKED AGAIN. I have no idea it that's true.

I was at the opening night of the Nude tour 1990 in Rotterdam De Kuip Stadium and there was a big thunderstorm and downpour, they had to stop the gig and sweep the stage, so I guess he must have allot of experience from Stadium gigs during/after a downpour.

It certainly took damage. I had a bit of a strum on it at Celebration 2017 in the control room of studio B. It had clear water damage at the base of the neck. It must have taken a good soaking.

I remember that. Also, on the second night in Utrect on the SOTT tour, it poured all day. Including the sound check and main show. For the Madhouse Soundcheck, they had to wear waterproof ponchos.

Not sure about the guitar, but Morris Hayes said his gear stopped working in the end

The Twins did slip according to one of the oral histories about the half time appearance.

We also know the doo rag was a last minute improvisation after his hair had been done.

When you tour you end up performing in a lot of conditions outside your control, but it's not like you can dance under a rain machine, then consider yourself prepared for something like that.

I think the difference is fans understand at a Prince concert for a 2 hour show, watched by 50,000 fans in a stadium, but when you are live in front of 100's millions globally with TV zooming in and focusing on you for a 10 minute performance, that's pressure.

I've seen a few quotes form the likes of Wendy where they played basketball at recording breaks at the warehouse and he was faster than her in his heels than she was in her trainers, so we look at Prince in his high heels on stage as a performer, but that was pretty much his everyday wear, so for him, he was comfortable and wearing what he wore most!

is this why the utrecht audio is "watered down" ??
