JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

So, as I'm scrolling through Prince's videos on the official channel, the song "Gold" has 1.9 million views; odd considering it peaked at No. 100 in the U.S. on the singles chart and other hits of a similar nature on his channel have far, far, far fewer views.

Then reading through the comments I see why this non-hit has so many views; the comments are mainly about a Japanese manga and the character's powers include "the gold experience."

I remember a little bit about this from years ago but it seems an animated adaptation brought people to the "Gold" video.

The creator was/is a huge Prince fan.

Has anybody watched/read this?

It peaked at #88 in the U.S. and #10 in the U.K.

I'm not sure about the specifics but a friend who watches it religiously often mentions the Prince references he finds. There's a lot of references to popular music, I think Queen being another major one.

Man, Jojo fans kinda piss me off lmao. They jumped on every single song that was used in the show and started ranting and raving about how good Jojo is and clogging up the comments section of every YT video with garbage memes. They do it in Discords and shit too, bringing Jojo up in completely unrelated chats and derailing conversations.

FYI: Don't even THINK about going to the comments section of YES's Roundabout.

The creator is a massive fan of western music and just shoves in random references where ever he pleases (there is literally characters named after bands etc) and tbh the fans just ruin the show these days. It was originally an '80s manga but it got a reboot a few years back and new hoards of teens are jumping on it because it's so wacky. As an active member of anime convention scenes, they're like the new friggin Homestuck cosplayers. Arrogantly loud, taking up space in halls to pose, screaming memes etc. I remember a few years back prior to the reboot when there was hardly any attention around Jojo's and I drew a pic of Prince 'Jojo posing' and nobody knew what it was lmao.

/Rant over lol
