Did prince ever mention anything about phil lynott?

I'm just wondering cause there havent been very many black rock stars obviously hendrix was a big influence but did prince ever mention phil they were around at the same time and prince definitely wanted to appeal to a white rock audience surely he was aware of him but Ive never heard any mention of him by prince.

I'm just like everybody else I need love.....and water.

Not that I've ever seen, and I can't say I hear much of an influence either - but Thin Lizzy rules!

I always hoped while Prince was alive that he would of covered some Thin Lizzy songs as I think they would have sounded amazing.

Comparing the guitar riffs in Sarah and Baltimore (and also Alexa de Paris), you'd have to think Prince listened to Thin Lizzy, even without the corroboration of Andre Cymone's recollections.

Or, it was a (rather tenuous) coincidence.

Did Philo get to the States beyond The Boys Are Back in Town? I was always under the impression Thin Lizzy didn't break except maybe as a retrospective artist.

I think Jailbreak was their only album to crack the top 20 in America. And every album after that performed worse than the previous one.

They seem too similar to be a coincidence.
