Probably "I Wanna Be Your Lover", as I used to only really like the relatively little 'disco-flavoured' stuff he did - I didn't really 'get' Prince for a long while and thought his production style was too sparse for my liking.

Getting into the lesser-known singles and album tracks of the likes of 1999, Purple Rain and Emancipation many years later - "Automatic", "Lady Cab Driver", "Computer Blue" and so on - helped to confirm to me that I could be a fan of his all-round oeuvre.

For me, it was the song "1999." I'd heard "I Wanna Be Your Lover" once or twice, but "1999" grabbed me and didn't let go. Oh, and I'm talking about the first time it was a single, prior to "Little Red Corvette" breaking down the doors commercially.

Cant remember which year, but I have memories of my older brother playing 1999 on vinyl and him showing me penisness of the 1. I was prolly 8. Few years later I was a big fan of Raspberry Beret on tape. I was fan but not obsessed until the Symbol album came out. I listened to that album non-stop, then started listening to everything else and the rest is history. , Come, The Beautiful Experience, The Undertaker, The Black Album and TGE will always be my favorite little stretch of albums as a fan. Great memories going to pick up those CDs on release days.
