stop bashing on Metallica cause they just had a little fun in a live show. It's not like the released a serious cover or anything like that.

Yeah, I know it was an improvised jam (and I really appreciate that they decided to pay tribute to P in MPLS), but it could have been better. Trujillo can play way funkier than that. That version is not metal and not funk.

There are days when, musically, Cyndi Lauper's "When U Were Mine" gets on my nerves.

But the lyrics are fantastic, they flawlessly still work sung by a woman.
That trio could be anything. I always thought the "sleep in between" was figurative,
as the rival figure standing in the way,
but I have no problem with more explicit interpretations.

Whut? I don't know that the lyrics don't work when sung by a woman.

I apologize for picking that gnat shit out of the pepper, but sometimes I get hung up on grammar related details like that.

Are we speaking the same language?
Pepper's kind of stale, ain't it?

When I say the trio could be anything, it could be two girls and a boy (I myself her "gal" in Cyndi's performance),
it also could be the same but it's the girl that was hers, or maybe it's about a 3rd gurl,
circles of amour are complex shapes, what do I know. What do you know?

On a side note, Cyndi goes for a more blatant "asleep in between".
Or maybe there's two guys? No wonder the music sheets got messy.

Nah, that's a great cover. I can't stand the jangling guitar, though.
Too much artificial flavor for my taste. But I see the southern point.
I like the spooky haunted house solo, very Bayou.

Ok I take that back, the version of Elecrtic Intercourse by Nero needs to be put out there to the masses. It could be top of the charts on a movie soundtrack if they coupled it with the right movie. I listen to that song over and over.

Absolutely horrible. Love Nina but by the time she did SOTT her ravaged voice was a sign of the times.

There's a band called the Revolution that travels around playing some decent versions of Prince songs. Or at least so I've heard. I'm seeing them in a couple of weeks to check them out for myself.

That band has the original geniuses! They only lost their lead singer. A shame, but doesn't diminish their brilliance!

Who? Haha! I was blessed with the opportunity to see them at First Ave. They met every expectation! To hear some of my favorite songs from the early days live and played right ( by the originals) was beautiful. Definitely not a cover band๐Ÿ˜œ

Bitchy riff, but so was the original. Nothing new brought to the table.

The blatant thing to me is, it sounds totally stupid being sung by an heterosexual man. I can picture Dave Gahan moaning this (althought the Cadillac reference would be alien), but a sunday BBQ family guy like Grohl? "Make a request" for what? More ribs? I like Grohl, but his ubiquitous love for pop makes him do strange, uninteresting choices. "Darling Nikki" was already ludicrous.
