PrintableI do. But current, modern technology doesn't make that easy anymore. So it depends where I'm listening - driving I usually have my Ipod on shuffle, at home I will listen to entire CD's and vinyl records moreso. And of course any new album gets listened to in its entirety several times over. I just bought a vintage vinyl record of Dirty Mind at a wrecka stow in San Antonio and I can't wait to get back home to MN and play it! It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. I must be in the minority because I mostly don't. More often than not I'll skip around. I love When Doves Cry and Purple Rain but there's only so many times I can listen to them. I find that the albums where I like every song (albums like Purple Rain, 1999, Dirty Mind), there's a few songs where, despite me liking them, I just can't listen to them anymore. I've heard them so much that they do nothing for me anymore. Then there are other albums where I might only like half the songs (Emancipation, For You, Plectrum Electrum), so I obviously skip the songs I don't like. And then you've got the albums where I only like one or two songs (Phase One, Love Symbol, Planet Earth) where I've made myself a playlist called "Good songs on Bad albums" and I put the good ones in there and I don't bother with the shit songs at all. | |

Certain albums I just can't do it though. Dirty mind, Controversy, 1999, PR, Parade, SoTT, Lovesexy...Gold...OK, sure. I give "Do U LIE" a pass because it's so short. | |

In the morning it’ll be something gentle like ONA, the choices increasing in funkiness during the day. It’s a great way to contemplate him more.
