If you listen to Prince playing guitar during 1998 1999 you can hear a big difference in sound compared to just a year befor or year 2000.

His guitar sounded like a synthisizer during this period,yet let of people say that Prince always used the same boss pedals.

But you can hear that in the 1998 there is no gritty amp sound and like

i said his guitar sounds like a synth so does anybody jnow what effect Prince used?

I wasn't crazy about his distorted guitar tone around then..Sounded like he was playing through a lot of rack effects. The BOSS gain pedals made it a bit muddy too.
