PP was searched once by the police, and then again by the police and DEA.

The photos of inside PP were taken as the police tore the place up searching for more fentanyl laced drugs.

Remotely possible I suppose but unlikely IMO. More plausible than a premeditated murder though.

I finally saw those photos from Paisley Park everyone was talking about a while ago and, whoa. They evoke a really strange vibe, like he had just moved in or was just moving out. Not at all what one would expect to see. There's a meandering, unfinished, inattentive, procrastinating feel to most of the place that was unsettling to me.

Sorry...off topic.

Tyka said that he was sorting through things and preparing for the museum. I was under the assumption that was the reason things looked so disheveled.

Yes,I meant to include that as well. I had read that some photos were taken upon arrival and that some rooms were the way that Prince had left them. I was also referring to the meager furnishings in his bedroom such as the makeshift tables and bed without a headboard. I wasn't exactly expecting to see that.It looked like he had been packing as well.

a lot was made of the complex being a mess and unkempt, i guess it was true. Prince obviously had other things on his mind whether it was his illness, addiction, he was more distracted. It's amazing his talent didn't suffer, that part is amazing to me.

I agree. I think that it was said that he had also been putting together the Atlanta shows for an eventual release and working on his memoir.

There are photos of the way the Police left it, and what the Police came back to, after PP wasn't on lock down and the ASSociates did their damage. It was documented with photos very well...let's just say after PP was ransacked the place was a total disaster.

Yes, I had heard that too about the associates. We don't really know what the place looked like before and who did what I suppose.

That was the thing he spent 99% of his time cultivating throughout his life so I'm not all that surprised. It was ingrained in him, almost entirely Who He Was and the muscle memory alone would be solid. Plus, I don't think his drug use was to the point of being debilitating in the way most people tend to think of it (Amy Winehouse, Keith Richards, John Frusicante, etc.)

I didn't think about the cops tossing the house either and I'd never seen the photos before so I apologize for digging up an old topic but, yeah, my reaction was more along the lines of what another poster mentioned about the lack of a headboard, attention to detail and that sort of thing. Some of the rooms looked like an art school dormitory.

Ultimatley Prince's biggest miscalculation was thinking he could do everything himself. Worked for a long time too but eventually we all need help and guidance. I sometimes wonder how things might have shaken out or been different had his child lived. I don't mean to be morbid but as a 51 year old father to a 7 year old and with addiciton issues myself I know having him in my life motivates me and has helped me to make changes/trusst/accept help.

We know what the place looked like on 4/21, then when the PD came back on May 10th with a search warrant and the disarray the place was in, when they got there.

Right. The photos on there was what I was thinking of. I was just wondering if he had been looking through things or if the police had scattered the cds, clothes and the other items. After looking at the photos again,I see that was how they had found the "Hat Room" on 4/21. I thought the rooms downstairs such as the office, yellow room, etc. looked very nice and well kept.

That's what I often think too but then again, when you look at the people who were there... those whose job it was to help him, you begin to understand why he didn't trust so much in the concept of getting help... it's exactly those who aren't really helping anything now.

Maybe, and i've heard that argument before, but those that close to Prince did wtf Prince said when he said it or else they weren't close anymore so it's a delicate balance. in additon, knowing what I know about the nature of addiction and what is commonly known in general, NO ONE can make an addict change unless they choose to.

So my conclusion based on all that is the combination of Prince's very strong sense of control, his limited and tight barriers into his inner circle, the tight leash he kept everyone on, the quickness by which he could "banish" someone, and the very nature of addiction itself TO ME equals they couldn't have really done anything if they'd wanted to or tried.

Our man was a strubborn cat who ALWAYS did things his way. Combine that general tendency with someone with his level of power and independence and all I can see is that it would have been futile to try. Maybe they DID try.

But Prince always ran his own show and was master of his world. He mostly surrounded himself with yes men and underlings who knew where their bread was buttered. Not to say he didn't have true friends but saying "they should have done this or I would have done that" is 20/20 hindsight and easy to say for anyone who wasn't inside his Paisley PLanet.

I know... tell me about it... it is just so frustrating to see now that those he hired (and paid!) to help him don't help his case at all now.

he woulda needed the right rehab facility too, the ones that make everyone scrub floors would have been all wrong, he woulda died before he did that with all that stupid pride.

the level of addiction that he apparently had usually affects a person a lot more, that's one of the things that made the addiction angle hard to accept. I still think suicide is a possibility, not only with what happened but also the things he allegedly said to people and how he was acting. Either way, when you do drugs/alcohol it's quasi-suicidal in itself.

I don't get the sense he was really interested in the reality we live and struggle in...too stark, too many difficult feelings. Opiates smooth that out.

Well, we are back to a concensus I spoke of in the middle of this thread before it was suggested we stick to music, career, etc. In 2015 & 2016 the problem of imported opiods laced with fentynal was just becoming known. Wish time could rewind so he could have been saved...

My own son became addicted in 2011 to painkillers before I think they started sticking the fentynal in. His life was saved by a loving family and 2 trips to rehab, or we would have lost him, I am sure.

Let's let the little purple guy rest in peace, knowing we all loved him, no matter what he did.

bheart

Good morning children...take a look out your window, the world is falling...
