Prince's legacy in the city of Haag, ADO Den Haag and The Netherlands after his Trojan Horse performance?

Does Haag share a special place for Prince in general and was there a feeling of "Haag before Trojan Horse and Haag after Trojan horse"? Do you have restaurants or bars with his picture proclaiming their love for Prince. For you that don't know ADO Den Haag is a football club based in the city with an infamous reputation due to their fans. Fans which are great but hardcore. At the time back in 1988 was he ever mentioned around Zuiderpark or does he have a reputation within the organization and the club in general? Also, was Trojan Horse located near Zuiderpark? How did the Netherlands greet Prince after his gigs back in 1988? And I mean up to this day. I'm talking about the press, celebrities, popstars within the borders, musicians? Do Tv mention him and his performances as important part in Dutch music industry and/or media industry? Do judges on Dutch Idol (silly I know) compare the contestants to him as the best? Basic things that we take for granted but the masses might not. Especially the Lovesexy era. I feel that Lovesexy equals Holland.

Can’t say for Den Haag specifically, but to put it succinctly: Holland loves Prince.

Great read:

Edgar, if you’re on here: will there be an English translation?
Asking for various friends.
Thanks!

I greatly enjoyed your book.

They’re probably not gonna kiss his ass too bad. The only thing he did special there was allow a soundboard aftershow to leak. That show wasn’t even extremely good compared to stuff that hasn’t leaked.

First of all: the official name of the city is 's Gravenhage, shortened to Den Haag, The Hague in English. And yes, the Paard van Troje gig became legendary in Holland and it helped to create a buzz for the next few years whenever Prince visited our country. Unfortunately, we had to wait until 1995 for the next aftershow.
No, there is no special relationship between Den Haag and Prince; one club show isn't enough for that. Prince actually visited the Paard again in 1992, but only to dance at a party with only a few visitors- mostly pretty girls. No hype or buzz whatsoever this time. The North Sea Jazz Festival was always a big thing in Den Haag, but it moved to Rotterdam years ago.I'd be surprised if ADO fans knew anything about Prince, but a Dutch football club being mentioned on this forum is something I'd never thought I'd see!

And if there ever was a legendary rock concert in Den Haag, it was the one by The Rolling Stones in the Kurhaus in Scheveningen in 1964 which turned into a riot with fans literally breaking the place down and the police stopping the whole thing after only a few songs. Mick Jagger even made a reference to it when The Stones played the huge Malieveld in 1998 (I was there.) Compared to that, Prince popping up in a small club isn't the stuff legends are made of. But it surely helped to build his name and fame and in a way, yes, Lovesexy=Holland. No one here cared much about that album cover either. Dutch artist Jett Rebel even made his own version of it.
